3 UNCOMFORTABLE CONVERSATIONS: A “Best Of” Threads Podcast: Life Unfiltered

uncomfortable conversations

Hey everyone!

If you’re new to Threads Podcast: Life Unfiltered, it’s a show about authentic living. The hosts, Ben and Jason, are two normal guys who share candidly the details of their lives. They also have guests who are experts in their field, fellow podcasts, and people with amazing stories. There are well over 100 episodes to choose from now, but here are a few of the best “uncomfortable conversations” from the show that may serve as a good starting point for noobs, as well as must-listens for any existing fan.

Threads Podcast: Life Unfiltered Episode 23

Sam, a transgender student from a neighboring town whose recent trans-phobia experience made local headlines, reached out to the show to share her story. This was an eye opener for any listener who is not very familiar with transgender issues as a whole. Prior to this, the guys had only limited experience and knowledge with trans people and their life perspective.

It was made even more difficult, as co-host Ben wrote on a separate blog, because the hosts’ religious beliefs were at odds with how they felt inside. That issue on its own is an uncomfortable conversation for many. But they took it one step farther after Sam reached out to Threads Podcast: Life Unfiltered for a face-to-face (potentially uncomfortable) conversation.

It was fascinating and is to this day possibly my favorite episode.

Episode 23: Sam, a Transgender Student That We Discussed in Episode 20, Shares Her Story

Threads Podcast: Life Unfiltered Episode 36

This episode was another early favorite.

Ben and Jason have a friend name Gabe. Gabe has been on another podcast with Ben and Jason, but was the guest on episode 36 of Threads Podcast: Life Unfiltered to talk about himself. He bravely shared his story of addiction recovery, his experience parenting kids through challenging circumstances, and rising above life’s challenges to be the best version of himself that he can possibly be. It is truly an inspiring story, which once again forced the hosts out of their comfort zones. A lot of the early episodes are great because you see the hosts, Ben and Jason, expand their worldview in real time.

Episode 36: Gabe–Ben & Jason friend–Shares His Story about Recovery and Living Authentically

Threads Podcast: Life Unfiltered Episode 114

The hosts of Threads Podcast: Life Unfiltered are no strangers to conflict. Ben and Jason have talked about it a lot by now. The other episodes on this list were earlier in their run. This one is more recent and shows how deeply into being honest and authentic these guys are. See, Ben and Jason had a major conflict. One which nearly ended this thing we call Threads Podcast: Life Unfiltered. On the podcast, Ben and Jason decided to work through the pain and brokenness. And, fortunately, they found a stronger friendship on the other side of a conversation. That was a conversation that included, among other things, some big personal life and mental health updates. Give it a listen and see what you think.

Episode 114: “The Fight” That Almost Killed Threads; Discussing Listener Q’s; and Getting Real about Our Mental Health

Try any or all of those episodes for a start, then go to your favorite podcast platform, subscribe to Threads Podcast: Life Unfiltered the show, and listen to new episodes of every week. Topics range from areas in faith, mental health, and uncomfortable conversations.

When you “tune in” you will hear a variety of guests who share their personal experiences and professional wisdom. The hosts talk openly and deeply about all aspects of life.

It’s a great show with a fantastic message that encourages and supports all of us to be honest a make ourselves a little bit better and see the world from a fuller perspective. Check it out. And if you like it, rate and review it wherever you download podcasts. It helps the show grow. Thanks.

Take care everyone!
