It was necessary because i want to simulation different parameter-sets. I am currently re-running the problem parameter set using a for loop rather than the parfor loop (and matlabpool's switched off), to see if this runs any better. Below is a minimal reproducible example of the problem.
I added the c:\working folder with all subdirectories to the Matlab path.
