By the way, I am using an Iomega NAS, and LION had issues with SMB connections. Frankly, that's the best one to exclude anyhow. The backup and main disks appear to be operating fine; I ran Disk Utility's Verify Disk on both and they came up clean. is online now Time Machine backup I am getting error code 6584. If you're just talking about having 300GB used internally, it should only back up what you have not backed up previously to the same TM file. Hadn't had any TM issues to troubleshoot myself until a few days ago when my wife's Mac refused to back up. Now move to Time Capsule>then right click> Go to Manual setup>Disks. I'm running Snow Leopard Server to back up remote clients and the server itself to an external drive.
