Happy to investigate but only if I can get to a failing test. MAVEN_OPTS=-Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=true fixed my Win7/VPN issue as well. Running test from IDE it's fine. I am thinking to put a 2 seconds sleep in the method to see if this is true.
